Parameter Sensitivity Analysis and Robust Design Approach for Flux-Switching Permanent Magnet Machines

Parameter sensitivity analysis is usually required to select the key parameters with high optimal goal before optimization carried out, especially for flux-switching permanent magnet (FSPM) machines where lot of design should be considered. Unlike traditional studies on parameter sensitivity, which are generally experience- or statistics-based, and time-consuming, this paper proposes a method FSPM machine based magnetic equivalent circuit (MEC), enables parameters’ sensitivities evaluated by their exponential in nondimensionalized equations, thus providing fast accurate way obtain sensitivities. Thereafter, influences modular manufacturing methods performances discussed, robust approach introduced, aims achieve best stability robustness setting boundaries dimensions when taking into account tolerances. Experimental validations also presented.
